How partnerships work

Clear answers before you join: what a partnership is, how we count partners, what contributions fund and what happens if a Torah does not reach its goal.

01

What a partnership is

  • One name, one place

Each partnership is $180 for one name and one of 613 places in a specific Torah.

  • Your number after payment

A permanent partner number is issued only after your payment is confirmed. Unfinished or failed checkouts never hold a place.

  • Your certificate

Every confirmed partner receives a personal certificate and a Torah Passport to follow the Torah's journey.

  • Respect for the sacred text

Names are never written into the Torah. A partnership is participation in its story, not ownership of the scroll or of a letter.

  • Your choice of privacy

Adult names appear in the public partner list by default and children's names start private. You can change either at checkout or later.

02

How partner counts are calculated

Every count on this site comes from confirmed contributions only. Pending, cancelled or failed checkouts are never counted, and we never display sample or estimated numbers as progress.

Some partners join in person or through their community rather than online. When the organization records these partners, they are included in that Torah's count and online partners are numbered after them.

Goals such as 18 Torahs or 25,000 Torahs are always labeled as goals or vision, never as results.

03

What each status means

  1. PlannedAwaiting a confirmed community, rabbi and Sofer. Not yet open to partners.
  2. In CreationPartners are joining and funding the Torah.
  3. In ProductionThe Torah is being written by a Sofer.
  4. CompletedThe Torah has been fully written.
  5. DedicatedThe Torah has been welcomed into its community.

04

What contributions fund

Each partnership is a contribution toward the specific Torah project you choose.

A detailed statement of how contributions are used is being prepared by the nonprofit and will be published here. We do not publish estimates or percentages before they are confirmed.

05

If a Torah does not reach 613 partners

Our policy for a Torah that does not reach its partner goal is being finalized by the nonprofit and will be published here. Until then, please contact us with any question about your contribution.

If a Torah fills before your payment is confirmed, we will offer you a place in another Torah or a refund. See ourdonation & refund terms.
